Sean Payne is a skilled trial and appellate attorney who has an extensive background in handling all types of personal injury matters in both New York and New Jersey. He has handled complex construction accident matters under the New York Labor Law and similar cases in New Jersey. He has worked on complex products liability, Jones Act maritime, and trucking accident cases. Sean has worked extensively in all types of general liability matters from auto accidents to premises liability cases. He has appeared and argued appellate matters before the New Jersey Appellate Division as well as the Third Circuit Court of Appeals. He has also personally tried numerous cases to verdict throughout New Jersey and has appeared and worked on trials in various counties in New York.
Sean is admitted in New York and New Jersey State Courts, the Federal District for the District of New Jersey, the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, and the Third Circuit Court of Appeals. He is a member of the New Jersey Association for Justice, the New Jersey State Bar Association, as well as the Essex County Bar Association. In New York, he is a member of the New York State Bar Association as well as the New York State Trial Lawyers Association.
Sean graduated from the Elizabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University earning his JD and was a founding member and President of the Personal Injury Law Association. While in Law School Sean was a law clerk for a well-known personal injury firm located in Manhattan where he focused his work on New York Labor Law matters as well as all aspects of general liability claims. Sean earned a Bachelors of Arts in History from Merrimack College where he was a member of the Division 2 Men’s Lacrosse program as a Goaltender.
In his spare time, Sean enjoys spending time with his family and is a longtime captain in his local Men’s Softball league.
