Michael Pecorella is an associate attorney that has dedicated himself to advocating for individuals whose rights have been violated. Drawing on his background in criminal law and extensive litigation experience, Michael develops strategic legal approaches designed to achieve meaningful results for his clients. He has successfully recovered millions of dollars on behalf of clients and has experience litigating matters in both New York State and federal courts. Most recently, Michael successfully secured a multimillion-dollar settlement for an individual falsely convicted of a crime he was later exonerated of.

Michael’s focuses on individuals who have had their rights violated. Those claims of wrongful/false arrest, wrongful convictions/malicious prosecution, excessive force, and injuries sustained by individuals who have been incarcerated by the Department of Corrections. Additionally, Michael has developed professional relationships with various government entities who oversee and participate in the accountability of law enforcement officers. Michael has led and successfully negotiated settlements for his clients from the earliest days of litigation up until the eve of trial. Such experience includes pre-suit settlements, mediations, and court assisted settlements.

Raised on Long Island, Michael has maintained a deep connection to New York and the communities he serves. He attended Pace University in Lower Manhattan, where he majored in History, graduating Summa Cum Laude and receiving multiple awards for his academic achievements. He earned his J.D. from St. John’s University School of Law, where he was an accomplished member of the Polestino Trial Advocacy Institute. During law school, he competed in national trial advocacy competitions and earned multiple individual awards and garnered St. John’s numerous national praises. In 2023 Michael received an award for his achievement in trial advocacy by the New York City Trail Lawyers Alliance.

Michael brings a strong commitment to public service to his legal practice. He has participated in numerous Long Island community initiatives, including food drives and neighborhood renovation projects culminating in him becoming an Eagle Scout in 2016. That dedication continues throughout his legal career, where he remains focused on pursuing justice and securing the best possible outcomes for those he represents.

Now a Brooklyn resident, Michael is a proud Mets fan and enjoys being part of the city and communities he serves. His courtroom experience, relentless advocacy, and commitment to his clients drive his work as he fights to protect their rights and hold responsible parties accountable.
