New Jersey Man Suffers Severe Injuries In Pedestrian Accident

A 58-year-old man was arrested during the early hours of a recent Monday morning. The arrest of the New Jersey man followed a pedestrian accident two days before, in which the victim suffered severe injuries. The incident was recorded by surveillance video cameras which helped police make the arrest.

According to the images displayed on the surveillance footage, the 57-year-old victim was hit by a vehicle while crossing a street at around 10:30 p.m. on a Saturday evening. The footage shows the driver of the Ford pickup truck did not stop after hitting the victim. The victim was taken to a hospital in the region. According to reports, his condition is stable, although he was severely injured.

The arrest followed the release of the surveillance footage on the Lindenwold Police’s Facebook page. The driver of the pickup truck was charged with knowingly leaving the scene of an accident where a serious injury occurred. The driver received a summons and was not detained.

In New Jersey, a victim suffering severe injuries in an auto-pedestrian accident may have the right to seek compensation for their pain and suffering as well as other financial damages by means of a civil suit. The victim of this accident may elect to file a personal injury claim. Monetary damages awarded from a successful claim could help the victim better cope with medical bills, rehabilitation costs and any lost wages due to missing time from work. Furthermore, should the victim pass away due to his injuries, his family may elect to file a wrongful death claim. A successful wrongful death claim may assist in providing monetary relief to the family during a difficult time.
