Michael E. Wachtel is an associate attorney who specializes in handling all types of personal injury claims at the firm.  Michael graduated from the University of Michigan, Ross School of Business with a bachelor’s degree in finance and accounting and with the highest honors distinction. He attended the Rutgers School of Law – Newark, where he graduated Cum Laude. Michael distinguished himself in law school by receiving the Myron Harkavy award for most promising trial litigator and publishing his note Give Me Your Password Because Congress Can Say So in the University of Pittsburgh Law School Technology Journal.

Prior to joining Fredson Statmore Bitterman, Michael worked at a large personal injury law firm for more than five years, where he represented hundreds of individuals injured in various types of accidents. He has argued and briefed before the New Jersey Supreme Court, the New Jersey Appellate Division and the U.S. District Court of New Jersey. Michael completed a Superior Court Clerkship with the Honorable Ann G. McCormick, J.S.C., Ret. in Middlesex County.

Every year since 2022, Michael has been elected to the New Jersey Super Lawyer Rising Stars* list, a listing of the top 2.5 percent of attorneys in New Jersey who are 40 or younger or have been practicing for less than 10 years. Michael is currently admitted to practice in the State of New Jersey, State of New York, United States District Court, Southern District of New York, United States District Court, Eastern District of New York, United States District Court, District of New Jersey. Currently, at Fredson Statmore Bitterman, Michael handles all types of personal injury cases from inception through settlement or trial.
