Truck Accident At Toll Booth Kills 1, Many Questions Unanswered

A tragic truck accident on Interstate 78 claimed at least one life and has New Jersey State Police wondering what exactly happened prior to the crash. The wreck involved a tractor trailer and another car which was pinned underneath it, but the circumstances are far from normal. The truck accident occurred at a toll booth, and the truck burst into flames as a result of the impact of the collision.

Witnesses said that the large truck careened towards the toll booth at a high speed, and that it then struck a car that had just paid. The truck driver survived the wreck, and at least one person was killed in the crash.

The crash is under investigation, and there are certainly questions that need answering. Usually vehicles that are approaching a toll are going at slow speeds, not barreling towards the structure like they were in the middle of a freeway with a high speed limit.

Was the truck driver distracted in some way? Did the truck suffer a mechanical malfunction, causing it to careen out of control through the tolls? Did the truck driver fall asleep at the wheel?

The answers to these questions will be revealed in the coming weeks; but in the meantime a family is in mourning and they may consider legal action. If any of the answers to the above questions prove that the truck driver was negligent in any way (or if the truck company was lax with their mechanical upkeep or bookkeeping processes regarding truck driver hours), then there could be multiple parties at fault.
